Geographic and Temporal Data Visualizations

With SQL Server and Power BI tools, you can visualize geographic and temporal data in many different ways. On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) analyses are always including analyses over time, no matter whether you use SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) in multidimensional or tabular mode, or you use Power Pivot for Excel or SharePoint. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) has support for mapping options out of the box. Power View reports can use maps and include play axis for temporal data. Power Map reports can show time-lapsed animations on the globe. The question arises when to use which tool. This session introduces all options mentioned and goes in depth with comparison of features of different tools through extensive use of examples. Attendees will get to understand strengths and weaknesses of each tool and thus learn factors that influence on the tool selection. In addition, this session shows how you can integrate geographic and temporal forecasts in Power View and Power Map visualizations and interactive animations.
