We built a game about AI and work. Come play it at the NT conference.
Docentric builds document automation and reporting solutions for Dynamics 365. Once in a while, we also build a two-minute game about where AI is taking work.
Working at Docentric means always looking for new ways to say what we believe, and what we make of the world we live in.
Our values show up in different places: our products, our people, the causes we back, the events we run. Some are big undertakings. Others are small touches, easy to miss, that make the whole thing feel more like us.
This May, at the fifth DynamicsMinds in Portorož, we brought one of the small ones. A game you can play in two minutes, with a bigger question sitting underneath it: what’s happening to work, and to us, in the age of AI?
AI is everywhere now. The business world is shifting under our feet, and the effects could land either way, for better or worse. We’re a company that likes to have an opinion, and we think having one comes with a duty to use it. We can’t steer the whole thing toward a good ending, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we can do is offer an honest, grounded critique.
So we built a game around the questions we keep asking ourselves. How does AI change work? If agents take over the tasks, what’s left for the humans? Where does optimizing everything actually lead?
It looks silly at first glance. A quick, quiz-like back-and-forth between a player and an AI agent, the kind of digital worker already turning up in our tools, funny and a little sarcastic. Play to the end and you walk away with a small gift that sums up the whole point.
This September we’re bringing it to the NT conference in Ljubljana. Come visit our booth, give it a try, and see where it takes you.
With any luck, you’ll enjoy it and sit with the message for a minute. Or at least one of the two.
