Elvin is a senior software engineer in the IT Storage and Data Management Group at CERN, responsible for all aspects of data storage and management within the IT Department. Elvin is in charge of the core development and maintenance of a large fraction of the EOS distributed storage system at CERN. He is one of the system architects contributing to the design, development and testing of multi-petabyte storage systems. Thanks to his expertise, Elvin has contributed to several areas of software-defined storage over the last ten years, from fault-tolerant architectures, I/O and networking performance optimization, consensus algorithms, shared filesystem implementations and as well communication protocols. In addition, Elvin is providing support to the overall physics community to exploit the full potential of the services and tools that the CERN IT department is providing.
