Restore is always a complex process, not just a double-click on a snapshot/checkpoint or an OS image. You can very much screw up your whole application if you do not properly follow recovery procedures given by your application vendor. Not just applications! DCs, domain computers, Intune clients, DHCP servers. Nothing will work well without manual recovery.
